Matthew Paige "Matt" Damon was born in October 8, 1970, and is an American actor and screenwriter.

Even though Matt is the star of great movie success like the Bourne thrilogy, it's very important to him to work for charitable causes. As a kid, he used to receive a $5 allowance per week, and when get was 12 he started to send a little bit of the money every month to one of the causes his mom was involved with: "When I was a boy, my mom had a magnet on the refrigerator with a little picture of Gandhi along with a quote from him. It said: 'No matter how insignificant what you do may seem, it is important that you do it.' As a child, I was raised to believe that, and to this day I do my best to live it. I learned then that you find one thing that matters to you, and it changes your whole mind-set."

He was the founder of the H2O Africa Foundation, which merged with WarterPartners to create Water.org in July 2009, which focuses on water and sanitation, and along with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle,  and Jerry Weintraub, he is one of the founder of Not On Our Watch, an organization that focuses global attention and resources to stop and prevent mass atrocities.

Matt supports the ONE Campaign, aimed at fighting AIDS and poverty in third world countries; He is an ambassador for OneXOne "Hope Belongs to Everyone", a non-profit foundation committed to supporting, preserving and improving the lives of children at home all around the world; He's also a spokesperson for Feeding America, the largest USA-focused hunger-relief organization.

Damon is a board member of Tonic Mailstopper (formerly GreenDimes), a company that attempts to prevent the trees used for junk mail letters and envelopes delivered to American homes each day from being chopped down.
